Harry W. Moore was 28 years old when he opened his first funeral home in Brightwood on the near northeast side of Indianapolis in 1929.
As the city of Indianapolis and the business grew, Harry expanded, offering quality funeral service from the Peace Chapel on East Michigan
Street and Arlington Chapel on East 38th Street and most recently Pendleton Pike in Lawrence.
After Harry's death in 1970, the business was owned and managed by his widow, Thelma Moore. For several years, the business was outside of
family ownership. But in September, 2001, Harry and Thelma's nephew, David Ring bought the funeral homes he once managed, bringing back family
ownership. Harry's goal was to provide quality and compassionate service at modest and affordable prices. The tradition of quality funeral and cremation service continues today from our Allisonville Road Chapel.
Indianapolis is served by many good traditional funeral businesses, some owned individually, but many by large private and public companies.
However, all of the prices and service offerings are "traditional" with not much flexibility for you, the customer. Harry Moore provides beautiful
facilities and services at prices less than those commonly charged. Our casket prices are lower than any funeral home in the area. Want to save thousands?
Take advantage of our Harry Moore Church Funeral Plan with a fixed reasonable price. Prefer cremation? Some funeral homes require you to purchase a
"cremation casket" and add on crematory fees. Harry Moore does not. Want to save thousands on cemetery expenses and you or your spouse is a Veteran? We can help.
